Bandleaders

The foundations of Boston Carnival started in 1973 by Ken Bonaparte Mitchell and several of his friends. Mislett and Harry were some of the original individuals responsible for the organizing of the parade route food venues and other important factors relating to the successful staging of Boston Carnival. In addition to those responsiblities they also organized a band. Yes they were also bandleaders.

Today those responsibilities has evolved into two distinct camps one
The Caribbean American Carnival Association (CACAB) and the other Boston Bandleaders Association led by Mr. C of Dynasty Productions and is made up of several members.

Boston Carnival at its core is a Trinidad Style Carnival, however many of the other islands do participate, bringing to the event their island's version of Carnival, which is what defines Boston Carnival as compared to Brooklyn, Miami or Toronto carnivals. Today Boston Carnival has about nine active bandleaders. They are: Cumm Cross Productions, D' Horizon, D' Midas International, Dynasty Productions, Engine Room, Trinidad and Tobago Social Club, Third Dimension and unity Sports Club.
