http://www.bostoncarnivalvillage.com/image/bcv-01782764.jpgKiddies Carnival – A day of fun for children and their families.  Be sure to tell your friends!  There is room for 10,000 people in White Stadium. While there, enjoy the other entertainment such as the sounds of the Steel band, face painting and much more as well as the Caribbean cuisine. Kiddies Carnival is probably the only event in Boston totally dedicated to the family during the month of August. The weather did not cooperate last year, however, it did not stop the children from having a fun time. See a slideshow of the event in the Photo Gallery.

Queen of band

The King & Queen Show is held at the Reggie Lewis Center, Boston. It features the larger costumes which are part of each band’s presentation for the season. This is the only opportunity for the audience to experience a close-up view of the costumes. Many in the audience wonder if the individuals parading the costumes can really maneuver them as easily as they do.  Entertainment is provided by Steel bands, local artists and an assortment of international Soca artists. Past entertainers have been The Shadow, Crazy and Shurwayne Winchester

Boston's official Carnival Village

BostonCarnivalVillage.com is your connection to Boston's Trinidad-style carnival. Experience the excitement of donning a costume and dancing to intoxicating Soca and Steel-Band music on the streets of Boston; and savor culinary treasures prepared by some of the Caribbean’s finest . You came to the right place! You can contact the parade organizers, find listings for most of the events held during the carnival season, as well as Caribbean businesses and restaurants.

Boston Carnival is not unlike other Trinidad-style carnivals in North America. I specify “Trinidad-style carnival” to help dispel the conventional conception of what a carnival is. As you wander around our website you will soon realize there is a significant difference.

No one else covers the culture quite like we do. Our offerings include Steel bands, live Calypso, Soca, and Chutney artists, King and Queen Show, Kiddies Carnival, Jouvert and the Parade. Additionally, you can read the profiles of the movers and shakers in the Carnival Village, reviews and interviews of the bands and our annual review of Boston Carnival. You will also find numerous photographic essays by photographer and founder of Boston Carnival Village Online, Mr. Michael C. Smith as well as other contributors.

Supporting the artisans "the men and women who make it all possible" - the band leaders is our primary objective, thus, we are constantly seeking sponsors. To inquire about sponsorship programs, please call us at 617-512-7803.

The Book-- Boston Carnival: Photographic Essay and Survey

Carnival book -Autihor Michael C. SmithBoston Carnival:  Photographic Essay and Survey contains 60 pages and has over 50 color photographs taken at the carnival celebration in August of 2005.  Also included are the results of a survey taken on that day. The 38-question survey attempts to profile the typical person attending the annual "Trinidad-Style" carnival celebration, determine the celebration's impact on the community, and discern what factors of the celebration are most important to its patrons. The data and photographic essay give the general audience a typical look at a day in the life of Boston Carnival. Purchase your copy today !
