BOSTON CARNIVAL, not unlike other Trinidad style carnivals across North America is laced with color, exotic costumes and mind blowing Soca music. It also enjoys the participation and support of many of the other Caribbean islands, which includes Jamaica, Barbados, Haiti, Guyana and many other Caribbean islands. In a survey we conducted in 2005 we learned several things which prompted us to form Boston Carnival Village, LLC. Its purposes is to seek funding for the band leaders and promote Boston carnival on the world stage.This is a formidable task, but achievable, and as we move forward, we believe that it is imperative that we document the history of Boston Carnival to make it easier for future leaders to take this cultural extravaganza to a higher level.
