Island Pride Inc - Daryl Cox Island Pride Inc is the design concept of Daryl Cox, he has been the signature designer of the Trinidad and Tobago Social Club during their reign as Boston's band of the year for the past nine years. He recently left the organization to form IslandPRIDE Inc which comprises a group of young, motivated individuals all focused on empowering the culture with the strength of the youth, it is their mission. He is committed to ensuring to all that the rich Carnival history has a home and the means to be continued with respect, dignity and honor. In the face of adversity, he persevered and formed with the help of his members for 2007 a well received presentation “Rebirth - The Evolution of Color” and promises for 2008 to launch another spectacular presentation called "Revamped - Exotica, Erotica". His kids presentations have always been a delicate mix of sophisticated, vibrant colors and in 2007 he infused that with an educational component through "Bollywood - Unity in Color", teaching us all that the true foundation of any ideal does in fact lay in arms of the youth and we should embrace and lead rather than chastise. All the kids who played with him, benefited from an educational package which taught them the rich history of Trinidad Carnival and its transition to the United States. A definite difference to traditional mas-making wouldn't you say?
